With wegfinder, e-bikes from GREEN4RENT can now be booked throughout Austria

Wien (OTS)Good news for e-bike enthusiasts. With wegfinder, 500 e-bikes from the provider GREEN4RENT can now be rented easily and flexibly at 50 stations throughout Austria. The mobility portfolio of the app has thus been expanded once again to include an environmentally friendly means of transport – the smart handling makes e-bike sharing easier than ever.

Whether it’s a day trip, a quick trip through the city or a quick trip to the train station, the wegfinder app now lets you discover all kinds of e-bike rental stations – in Vienna, Bregenz, the Salzkammergut and throughout Tyrol, among other places. And in Korneuburg, too, the electric bikes can now be rented at three rental stations. Only recently, a mobility hub was created here in cooperation with ÖBB. The bicycles are a central offer of the integrated mobility service on site.

So if you would like to try out Sophie, Terry or Darius – all GREEN4RENT bikes have personal names – by the hour or perhaps ride them for a little longer, you can book the nippy bikes through wegfinder with little effort and also combine them with numerous other mobility services. After registering once via wegfinder, almost the entire range of multimodal mobility is available.

Uncomplicated booking & flexible rental

You can quickly find e-bike rental stations in the interactive map of the surroundings. After that, the bike of your choice is rented and settled with the deposited payment information. User-friendliness is a top priority within the app. New users therefore find their way around just as quickly as those who already know the app well. All processes, from searching to booking to payment, are always carried out via the same user interface.

This makes registration with several providers and in different apps superfluous. A big plus also for e-bike newcomers: the app tutorial explains step-by-step how to use it, so that nothing stands in the way of safe riding fun.

Green4rent: Green mobility for all

E-biking has become a trend in recent years. It is not only the exercise in the fresh air that is inspiring, but also the CO₂-neutral mobility and the time saved – especially in congested areas – that convince many thousands of users every year. The team of Austria’s leading intermodal mobility app wegfinder is also aware of this and is constantly expanding its portfolio with green mobility partners.

The aim is to combine more and more emission-free means of transport in the app alongside traditional providers. With the integration of the booking function for the sharing bikes of the Tyrolean service provider GREEN4RENT, another important step has been taken in this direction, confirms iMobility managing director Gregor Fischer:

„We are pleased that with GREEN4RENT we can now also offer another particularly environmentally friendly means of transport via wegfinder. With this bike-sharing system, e-bikes could be integrated into the in-app booking system for the first time.“

Johannes Freudenthaler, Managing Director of GREEN4RENT, adds:

„We are also very pleased that our e-bikes can now be booked via the wegfinder app. We want to use these newly created synergies to inspire even more customers in the future for a more environmentally friendly journey and a nature-loving excursion.“

wegfinder – Öffis, Sharing & Co by ÖBB

The goal of wegfinder is to create a marketplace for mobility and thus further shape Mobility as a Service (MaaS) in Austria. Today more than ever, people want to be flexible, individual, environmentally friendly and independent on the road. wegfinder meets these needs and enables efficient local and long-distance travel with a mix of different forms of mobility.

In the meantime, all Austrian transport associations, ÖBB, private railways as well as numerous providers of the so-called new forms of mobility such as car sharing, e-scooter sharing, bike services but also rental car and scooter services and also taxi services are offered. The pulse behind wegfinder is iMobility GmbH, a subsidiary of ÖBB-Personenverkehr AG, which has been working on digital solutions for simple and usable mobility at its location in the heart of Vienna since its foundation in 2015.

Lifestyle4unique editorial tip – Hiking and cycling tours on holiday

Austria is not only ideal for hiking, but also for cycling tours. So if you want to be active on holiday anyway, the Wegfinder app and the green4rent bikes are a good idea. This is just as true for romantic holidays in Austria as it is for places near the border like Kufstein.
